Engineer It! Summer Science Day Camps
Exciting and educational hands-on science for kids and adults. These stand-alone
camps feature a different theme each week and a different topic every day, so
you can join us for one day, one week, all five weeks, or any combination.
Construct robots, build and launch alka-seltzer rockets, engineer air-powered
and electric-powered race cars and much more. Some scholarships are available;
call the Museum for more information and details.
- Camp hours from 9am to 12noon
- Two age-appropriate camp tracks: ages 6-8 and 9-11
(Robots has only one track: ages 8-11)
- Small group instruction
- A staff of experienced educators
- Lots of fun summer memories!
- Parents and Grandparents are invited to sign-up as volunteers for Summer
Science Day Camps
- Each Day Camp is $25 for Museum members, and $30 for non-members, plus tax

Engineer It! Camp Schedule
June 15 - 18: Think It, Build It, Test It,
Redo It CLOSED
Kids learn the process that engineers
go through in order to be successful.
This fun-filled camp explores the
steps
for making sure that your
product
is
the best it can be.
- Monday. Build with straws,
toothpicks, marshmallows, & gumdrops
- Tuesday. Build with balloons
and paper
- Wednesday. Build with
cardboard
- Thursday. Build as a team
June 22 - 25: Robots, Robots, Everywhere CLOSED
Build program-controlled robots with
motors, sensors & tiny computers.
Create your own interactive
inventions!
- Monday. Build robots that
respond to light, temperature& wind
- Tuesday. Build for a holiday,
event, or festivity
- Wednesday. Build your own
sound-making machine
- Thursday. Build motion
machines
that bring Newton’s
Laws to life
June 29 - July 2: The Power of Water
Water as an energy source and how density affects objects’ ability to float.
- Monday. Build a water mill and modify it using different materials CLOSED
- Tuesday. Build mountains and tear them down with erosion
- Wednesday. Build water-powered rockets CLOSED
- Thursday. Experiment with floating and sinking
July 6 - 9: Moving Without Motors CLOSED
Explore the Laws of Motion and build a variety of fun vehicles with alternative power sources.
- Monday. Build a balloon-powered car
- Tuesday. Build an air-powered car
- Wednesday. Build a film canister rocket
- Thursday. Build a hover-craft
July 20 - 23: Build It, Shake It, Break It, and Re-Make It
Build structures out of various materials and test them against wind, water, earthquakes, and more.
