The holidays are always a magical time at the Mid-America Science Museum, and this year offers even more ways to experience the wonder of this unique attraction, and support the Museum as well.

Fundraising Events for All Ages

This season, the Museum invites guests to participate in two special fundraising events taking place in the exhilarating galleries of Museum itself: the 9th Annual Taste of the Holidays, and the Holiday Breakfast for Kids. 9th Annual Taste of the Holidays

The 9th Annual Taste of the Holidays, sponsored by the Mid-America Science Museum Foundation, will be held Sunday, December 7th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Museum. During this impressive event, Museum supporters sample culinary specialties from Hot Springs' finest chefs, enjoy superior beer and wine selections, listen to performances by local musicians, shop at the area's most unique silent auction, and bid on special live auction items as well. "Taste of the Holidays" is the Museum's primary annual fundraising event, and one which has delighted guests for years.

Tickets for this year's event are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase by phone at 501-767-3461, or online here. Tickets will be held at the Museum Store on a will-call basis. Tickets can be picked up in advance, or upon arrival at Taste of the Holidays on 12/07/2008.

Holiday Breakfast for Kids

On Saturday, December 13th, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., the Mid-America Science Museum Volunteer Association will host a special Holiday Breakfast for Kids. Children will enjoy a delicious breakfast, engage in creative holiday activities, get their pictures taken with Santa Claus, be entertained by a special "surprise" guests, and delight in exploring the Museum.

Tickets are $5. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available for purchase by phone at 501-767-3461, or online here. Tickets will be held at the Museum Store on a will-call basis. Tickets can be picked up in advance, or upon arrival at this special Holiday Breakfast for Kids.

All proceeds from these two holiday events benefit the Museum and the MASM Volunteer Association. They are both exceptional fundraisers that allow attendees to become an integral part of the Museum's efforts to assure the continuation of its overall educational mission.

Gifts Galore at the Museum Store

MASM's Museum Store has long been a hot "play 'n learn" destination for children and families in Hot Springs, making it THE ideal place for "smart" holiday shopping again this year. Its superlative array of creative, innovative-play, and educational gifts has made it a hit with homeschoolers, teachers, students and science-minded "kids" of all ages. Visitors to the Museum Store don't have to be Museum members or pay the Museum admission fees in order to shop. Museum Store purchases support the educational mission of the Museum.

Holiday Sales

The Museum Store makes holiday shopping a breeze this year with not one, but two upcoming sales: November 28 - 30, 2009 and December 13 - 14, 2009. During these sales, all educational science kits will be on sale at 20% off, and seasonal holiday items will be 40-60% off. Shoppers purchasing a Museum membership during these sales receive an additional 10% off sale items, and 20% off all regularly-priced Museum Store merchandise on that day of purchase. Gift certificates are also available.
