National Breast Cancer Awareness Month October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Mid-America Science Museum is proud to recognize this cause. According to the American Cancer Society more than 190,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer were reported in 2009. More than 40,000 lost their battle. That’s why if you wear pink to the museum during the month of October, you will receive a buy-one get-one admission. That gives you an extra few bucks to donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in an effort to fight back against this sometimes deadly disease. A Donation box is available at the museum store—100 percent of the proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
