Odyssey's SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure

Mid-America Science Museum is proud to be hosting this exciting special exhibition. Encompassing 8,000 square feet, it features more than 500 authentic artifacts recovered by Odyssey from various shipwrecks in the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel, and the Mediterranean Sea.

 

Taking visitors on the thrilling quest to discover the ocean’s greatest shipwreck stories and treasures, SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure fuses history, science and technology into an exciting educational experience through the use of interactive elements and real life treasure displays.

This interactive, multi-media, visually engaging exhibit features some of the most extraordinary shipwrecks in the world.

 

SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure gives all ages . . .

• A fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the research and technology used to locate shipwrecks

   and a unique opportunity to be involved in hands-on activities relating to shipwreck exploration

• The opportunity to participate in the pioneering exploration of shipwrecks, while learning about

   the cutting-edge technology, archaeology and fascinating stories of ships lost at sea over

   the centuries

• To come on board with the Odyssey crew and explore the exciting world of deep-ocean

   exploration, science, technology and history as you journey through thousands of years

   of maritime travel
