Camp-In Information Come and explore the Mid-America Science Museum Indoors!

Good Vibrations (Oct. 13 through Jan 13)

Magically catapult a penny across the room using the heat from your hands, suspend magnets in mid air, and see sound as you explore the visible affects of the invisible. Good Vibrations traveling exhibit gives you a chance to boost your knowledge and expand your imagination as you explore the wonders of heat waves and infrared cameras, explore the electrical effects of low pressure gas at the Glow Discharge Tube and slice up a recording of your voice at the Speech Dissector. The excitement is endless.

Gross Night Out

Spend the night exploring the impolite science of the human body! Make fake blood using food coloring and Vaseline, and fake snot using borax. Afterwards sleep among this exciting and educationally stimulating exhibit, Grossology, that explains the how and why of mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly, and stinky things found in the human body. Kids love it.

Among the Mayan Medallion

Search for a priceless jade medallion that was buried in an ancient Mayan ruin (a Palenque temple) where an archaeological team was excavating. The exhibit portrays a stylized version of an ancient Mayan ruin, located in a Mexican rainforest. Sleep in the recently abandoned archaeological site is within this setting. Enter the exhibit to learn about the departed team of archaeologists.

Who can attend?

Great for scout troops, youth & church groups, schools, families, birthday parties and anyone ready for an unforgettable fun night. Only $35 per person! Each group of 10 youths must be accompanied by 1 adult chaperone. Minimum number for a scheduled Camp-in date is 100 participants. Groups will be combined to meet the required number.

Can’t Spend the Night?

Plan a special "Almost Overnight" evening for your group at the Museum. Program choices include: hands-on workshops, Laser Shows and special films, exhibits exploration and a live science show at a discounted price.
